With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 3 July 1849 of David Johnson late of the House of Correction at Northallerton labourer for stealing two bank notes for the payment of £5 each, three gold coins called sovereigns, two silver coins called half-crowns, 25 silver coins called shillings, 17 silver coins called sixpences, three silver coins called fourpenny pieces, one purse and one memorandum book, the property of Benjamin Ward, on 21 June 1849 at the parish of Bedale. Johnson was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton for one calendar month and to be once whipped. Certificate dated 13 October 1855 |
