- Philip Etherington aged 84 years. Inquest held at Warlaby on 12 July 1842. Verdict: cut his throat in a state of temporary derangement

- Catherine Cundale aged 46 years. Inquest held at South Cowton on 16 July 1842. Verdict: accidentally killed by falling from a pony

- Jane Smith aged 65 years. Inquest held at Thirsk on 22 July 1842. Verdict: by the visitation of God

- Robert Thompson aged 42 years. Inquest held at Thirsk on 1 August 1842. Verdict: by the visitation of God
