TitleMotion paper for a respite in the case against the inhabitants of Old Malton
DescriptionMotion paper for a respite in the indictment against the inhabitants of Old Malton for not repairing 6,000 yards of the Pickering turnpike road. The indictment was preferred at the Michaelmas Sessions 1804. At the Christmas Sessions of 1805, the inhabitants submitted and were fined £1200 which was used for the repairs. The indictment has been respited at each Sessions since then. A total of £1273 6s 5d has now been expended on the road. The inhabitants want to complete the road, which is not yet in a state to be certified, and a request is made for a respite until Midsummer
