From 28 April 1794 the highway has been in disrepair in the hamlet of Tanton in the township of Stokesley from a boundary stone on the highway dividing the liberties of Newby and Tanton southward towards a barn near the highway occupied by Jonathan Sweeting, being 2,700 yards in length and 7 yards in breadth |
