DescriptionExamination of Thomas Howlston. He was born at Kirkdale about two miles from Liverpool, and was apprenticed to Peter Williamson of Liverpool staymaker for seven years. He served about three years and has lived at Liverpool until about a year and a half ago, when he went to Edinburgh in Scotland. He was taken ill there, and was ill for about ten months, and then travelled around the country seeking work. He left Berwick about two months ago, and came through Darlington, Yarm, Stokesley, Guisborough, Whitby and Scarborough, and was intending to go to Liverpool when he was apprehended yesterday for begging in Hutton Bushell
