TitleLetter from Elizabeth Procter at Whitby
DescriptionLetter from Elizabeth Procter at Whitby to Mr Birch, deputy Clerk of the Peace at Easingwold. Her servant Ann Briggs indicted William Gardiner and Margaret his wife at the Spring Sessions held at Northallerton about a year and a half ago, but heard nothing until last Monday, when she received a notice to appear at Easingwold next Tuesday. She should have received ten days' notice. Also William Gardiner is now in York Castle for a debt and so cannot appear to plead guilty or not guilty. Procter will pay any fees when she sees Mr Birch, but she fears the Clerk of the Peace will not get any fees from Gardiner
